Description
You are looking at a vintage syrup kettle. This kettle is a 50 gal kettle. This one does have the foam rings so I wouldn't be surprised if this kettle would hold more than 50 gal. I personally cleaned the inside bottom so you all could see the condition of the kettle. I did this so there should not be any question of the condition. There is only a few pits in the bottom and the rest of the kettle is great. I think this is the smoothest surface inside of any kettle I have ever seen. The inside surface of the kettle is smooth, such as a Griswold skillet. I don't know if the manufactuer polished this or some previous took time to polish this. Anyway this is very desirable. I am setting a very reasonable reserve, way below what I paid for the kettle. The rings by themselves cost 150 dollars to have custom made. The taller outside ring is tack welded in place. If someone did not want the rings installed then it would be easy to remove with a small angle grinder. I would think that with the manufactuer name and size cast on the rim of the kettle this would be a collectable. I have never seen another one like it. The outside dia. of the kettle is approx. 48 inches. The lip of the kettle is 4 inches. The outside of the kettle is almost good as the day it was made. I would think if anyone was looking for this size kettle then they would be very happy with this one. This kettle is very heavy and large so I don't think shipping would work. If any questions please email and I will answer soon as possible. Thanks for looking.
